Once known as the Parkdale Center has a new name with a brand new look: the West End Center located in St. Louis Park, MN. Empirehouse was awarded the architectural glass & metal contract by Greiner Construction. This major renovation project replaces two areas of brick facade with curtainwall and replaces punched windows and entrances which gives this facility a brand new modern look with a glass area of approximately 24,000 square feet.
Project Manager Joe Veit worked with Grainer Construction, the General Contractor, to assist with system design and constructability. “Joe developed an innovative solution to attach the curtainwall system to the building’s existing slab edge with a custom steel insert attached to the bottom of the mullion,” said Senior Estimator Matt Gums.
The project is expected to be completed in November 2017.
