Installing glass lites under flight pathGlazing Beneath an Flight Path
Glazing beneath the roaring jets taking off and landing from the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport, the Empirehouse Glaziers wondered if this project’s location had been planned. Sure enough Summit Orthopedics made a strategic decision to build their third location just minutes from the airport to cater to out-state patients.

The Empirehouse glazing team safely installed nearly a thousand square feet of heavy-duty, triple-glazed glass lites that will help buffer the air traffic sound.

In addition, the glazing team installed nine aluminum curtainwall systems, a storefront system, punched windows and entrance doors.

  • Nine fully captured aluminum curtainwall systems with pressure-wall framing glazed with over 5,200 square feet of tinted, high-performance insulated vision and spandrel glass
  • Aluminum storefront thermal clip framing system glazed with over 2,700 square feet of tinted, insulated vision glass lites with high-performance low ‘e’ coating
