Safety is an Empirehouse Tradition

Empirehouse instills the importance of safety to our team members in the field, in the plant, and in the office. All of our team members recognize that working in an unsafe manner is counter-productive. It is too late to prevent an accident after it happens. Safety is a company economic and a moral obligation. We see to it that each staff member operates safely and efficiently under each other’s care, custody, and control.

Most important, team members are encouraged to demonstrate leadership by setting a good example. Along with our responsibilities, safety consciousness exists in our thinking and planning. Not only do we help prevent unsafe acts, but we attempt to anticipate potential hazards. It is our goal that every day is a safe and productive day for our team members and customers.

Empirehouse is national recognized as an industry safety leader by FCA for the third year in a row

Empirehouse is proud to be recognized nationally as an industry leader in construction safety by FCA International for the third year in a row. This year we were a Top 10 Finisher in the annual CREST (Contractors Recognizing Excellence in Safety Training) Awards, distinguishing contractors for safety excellence. Of the companies who entered, four architectural glass and metal contractors earned the right to lay claim to the safest contractor in their respective categories, and five other glaziers finished as Top 10 Finishers. Winners and Top 10 Finishers are now industry-recognized leaders in construction safety and were celebrated during the FCA Awards Ceremony at the FCA International Leadership Council.

“The FCA CREST Awards were created to encourage and recognize contractors who have led an effective safety program throughout the year,” explained Anthony Darkangelo, CEO of FCA International. “CREST Award winners have proven that protecting their employees is a priority at their company, and that they are a leader in construction safety.”

The FCA CREST Awards were started in 2011 with a simple mission: encourage and recognize excellence in safety training. Awarded by FCA International (an international contractor association representing more than 7,000 signatory contractors in the construction industry), winners are objectively selected based on key safety metrics such as years the company has had a safety program, safety training, injury/illness rates, recordable incident rates, EMR trends, etc.

This is the second year Empirehouse has entered the FCA CREST Awards, and its second year winning the “Architectural Glass & Metal: 50,001-100,000 man hours worked” category. “Empirehouse’s commitment to safety has grown largely due to an ever-changing industry and demanding time schedule. These increases demanded a safety program that meets and exceeds the expectations of our customers as well as ourselves. Empirehouse invested in the necessary training and equipment to make those that work for us safe,” said General Manager James Bringle when asked about the reasons for his company’s continued success in the CREST Awards.
