Empirehouse Receives 2014 MCA Merit AwardPosted on February 1, 2014, by Kristine Hutera
Empirehouse was presented with a MCA MERIT AWARD on January 29, 2014 during the Minnesota Construction Association Awards of Excellence celebration at the Minneapolis Golf Club. The award was presented for their work at Minnesota Orchestra Hall.
One judge commented, “This project showcases a complicated component in a redesign of an existing facility. The team was fully integrated and good management during all phases of the process helped achieve the success that is shown in the final construction. A restrictive site and a unique approach to sequencing delivery of materials allowed the subcontractor to work with other trades to successfully complete the project. Unique methods of performing the installation based on the prime contractors sequence showcased innovation thinking about the methods for installation.”
Another judge commented, “Empirehouse went above and beyond the traditional offering of a subcontractor. The extensive pre-design efforts, use of BIM, dealing with an urban site, and managing and coordinating an extensive interior and exterior scope of work was done very well. Great job!”
