Empirehouse was very pleased to play a part in CONSTRUCT TOMORROW’s 1st Annual Summer Hands-On Event at the HH Humphrey Job Corps campus on July 28, 2014 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Empirehouse offered a hands-on exercise teaching how glass was installed into commercial window frames, allowing the students to safely handle and install lites of glass the same way the journeymen glaziers do in the field. We participated with the Finishing Trades Institute, the apprenticeship training organization for the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT). They also offered the students tips on glaziers training and explained how students can develop construction career skills through the Union sponsored programs.

Approximately 200-300 students with interest in the construction trades attended. This outdoor experience let students physically experience what skills are required by the wide variety of trades people who make up the construction industry.

The Twin Cities’ television station KARE 11 covered the event.
