Mall of America Topping Off CeremonyPosted on April 21, 2015, by Jennifer Klitzke
Nothing is more exciting to the field crew than seeing an evergreen tree hoisted to the top of a building which signifies that the last beam or structural element for the project has been placed by the trades. This “topping off” ceremony was held at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota on April 21 directly in front of one of the glass curtain wall assemblies that Empirehouse has been installing at the site this season.
The “topping off” practice dates back to Scandinavia and the Vikings and signifies bringing life into the building. Empirehouse is providing all the glass curtain wall, entry doors, glass railings, and glass canopies for this project, which will bring light and energy into the Mall of America expansion, hotel and office building!
The new spaces are scheduled to be open late this summer.
