A Days Work at Target CenterPosted on September 2, 2016, by Jennifer Klitzke
Empirehouse is proud to have been awarded the specialty glazing contract by Mortenson Construction for the Target Center renovation. There are many aspects to this project that are underway: 10 glass bi-folding doors, glass entry doors, and this curtainwall—with the exciting 1st Avenue and 6th Street entrance renovation to come.
It was a top 10 weather day for the Empirehouse glazing team working on the Target Center curtainwall in downtown Minneapolis this week. Empirehouse Field Supervisor Trent Johnson captured our glaziers setting 15 — 6′ x 10′ insulated glass lites into the aluminum curtainwall which was installed the day before.
Logistic pre-planning between our fabrications and glazing team made for an efficient glass installation using the Empirehouse glass truck. Apprentice Glazier Sean Wilmes assists with transferring each 285 lb. glass lite from the glass truck to Foreman Brandon Schindele and Glazier Gary Salmala in the lift.
Glazier Dan Weiss (inside) held the glass lite in place while Brandon and Gary installed it.
