In the spring of 2008, Empirehouse was selected as the glazing specialty contractor for the American Bank Center remodeling project in Bismarck, North Dakota. The goal was to transform an outdated building façade to a modern look using blue reflective glass, framed in a midnight blue finish. This impressive transformation has made the American Bank the jewel of downtown Bismarck, ND.
The American Bank Center project offered several challenges that the Empirehouse team successfully worked through. The bank remained open during demolition and installation, so ensuring safety to bank patrons and staff was essential throughout the project. In addition, the downtown location offered minimal staging and a consolidated construction schedule was established to complete the project before inclement seasonal weather arrived. Strategically, the team removed small portions of the old facade and immediately installed the new curtainwall in order to protect the building from exposure to the elements.
Despite these logistic challenges and an aggressive schedule, Empirehouse successfully completed an intricate, piece-by-piece demolition of the outdated window system and façade and installed the new curtainwall system safely and on time.
Special thanks to the fabrication team for getting the material to site in a timely manner, and to Foreman Trent Johnson, Crew Chief Dave Johnson, Dan Gile, Brandon Shindele, Jake Reining, and Adam Griffith for braving the North Dakota weather and for a job well done!
