Forest View is one of several outstandingly designed new schools in northern Minnesota. The 340,000 square foot school was designed to accommodate 2,200 students and features a grand main entrance. At first glance, this education facility reminds one of a commercial complex or a corporate campus rather than an elementary school. Once inside, lockers, stone walls, and terrazzo floors immediately shout that this building is a school.
Empirehouse’s attention to detail, quality work, and quick response to post-installation matters, make us the Specialty Glazing Contractor of choice among owners and architects for school projects.
Empirehouse custom fabrication and specialty glazing work includes:
- A sloped, radius glass wall in the auditorium features 66 aluminum entrance doors equipped with electronic locking hardware and fabricated using heavy-wall 3/16″ aluminum extrusions and lined with steel
- The cafeteria area was enclosed with a 75′ long two story radius curtainwall
- All exterior glazing used a new 1″ insulated glass with both a low “E” and reflective coating, giving the glass a very high energy rating
